Add Your Rainwork to the Official Map!

So, you’ve made a rainwork and you want to submit it to the official map… YAY! One of our favorite things about this project is watching the map grow as more and more creative people join in the collaboration.

We want it to be as easy as possible for people to add their rainworks to the map, so we’ve created a mobile app that makes the process really simple. It’s available for both iPhones and Android devices:

We’re really proud of how this app turned out (thanks to our amazing app developer Simon!) and we think it will make it more easy and more fun to contribute to the official map — and for other people to find the rainworks you’ve created. We hope you’ll download the app and let us know how it works for you. We’re so excited to see the rainworks you make!

Desktop Users

If you do not have a mobile device or are unable to download our app, you can still add your rainwork to the official map. Please send an email to map@rain.works with the following information:

  1. Location of rainwork (use Google Maps or latlong.net to get exact coordinates)
  2. Photo of your rainwork
  3. Title
  4. Names of Creators (i.e. how you want to be credited)
  5. Date created
  6. Description (optional)
  7. Yes or no: Do we have your permission to share your photo from our website/social media pages? (credit always given)

We look forward to seeing your creations!

Submission Guidelines

Here are some things to note:

As you probably know, the whole point of rainworks is to turn rainy days into something to look forward to. The purpose of the Official Rainworks Map is to give rainy-day explorers a simple, fun, and family-friendly way to find the awesome rainworks in their area. Rainy-day scavenger hunt, anyone?

Here are our current guidelines. We do not add rainworks to the map if they contain:

  • Vulgar images or inappropriate language
  • Blatant advertising or political messaging
  • Hashtags (yes, even #rainworks)
  • Personally identifying information
  • Logos, business names, websites, addresses, or other contact information

There are other reasons that a rainwork might not be added to the map, such as being located on private property where trespassing is prohibited or being made with a non-environmentally-safe coating. If you have questions about whether your rainwork idea would be accepted on the map, email us.
